Philippe Cousteau

Philippe Cousteau (1940-1979) was a renowned French oceanographer, environmental advocate, and filmmaker. He was the second son of the famous ocean explorer Jacques Cousteau and Simone Melchior. Early Life

Philippe Cousteau was born on December 30, 1940, in Toulon, France. He was raised in a family with a deep love for the sea. His father, Jacques Cousteau, was a pioneer in marine exploration and co-invented the Aqua-Lung, a device that allows divers to breathe underwater.

Career
