Pieology
Pieology is a U.S.-based franchise that specializes in providing custom, artisan-style pizza. Founded in 2011 by Carl Chang, the company has grown rapidly, with over 130 locations across the country as of 2021.
History[edit | edit source]
Carl Chang, a former professional tennis player and the older brother of tennis champion Michael Chang, founded Pieology in 2011. The first location was opened in Fullerton, California, and the company quickly expanded across the country. Pieology was one of the first companies to capitalize on the trend of fast-casual, custom pizza.
Concept[edit | edit source]
Pieology's concept is based on providing a personalized pizza experience for customers. Customers can choose from a variety of crusts, sauces, cheeses, and toppings to create their own unique pizza. The pizzas are then cooked in a stone oven in less than five minutes. In addition to pizza, Pieology also offers salads, desserts, and craft beverages.
Business Model[edit | edit source]
Pieology operates on a franchise model, with individual franchisees owning and operating their own locations. The company provides training, marketing support, and operational guidance to its franchisees. Pieology's rapid growth has been attributed to its innovative concept, high-quality ingredients, and strong franchisee support.
Reception[edit | edit source]
Pieology has been well-received by customers and critics alike. It has been praised for its fresh, high-quality ingredients, innovative concept, and friendly service. The company has also been recognized for its rapid growth and success in the fast-casual pizza market.
