Pierce County is a county located in the U.S. state of Nebraska. As of the 2020 census, the population was 7,148. Its county seat is Pierce. The county was formed in 1859 and named after President Franklin Pierce.

Geography[edit | edit source]

Pierce County is located in the northeastern part of Nebraska. It is bordered by Knox County to the north, Madison County to the east, Antelope County to the west, and Wayne County to the south. The county's total area is 575 square miles, of which 573 square miles is land and 2.1 square miles is water.

Demographics[edit | edit source]

As of the 2020 census, there were 7,148 people, 2,839 households, and 1,938 families residing in the county. The racial makeup of the county was 98.7% White, 0.2% Black or African American, 0.1% Native American, 0.3% Asian, 0.2% from other races, and 0.5% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.0% of the population.
