In the mid-19th century, Jannet founded the Bibliothèque Elzévirienne, a publishing venture named after the famous Elzevir family of printers and publishers from the Netherlands. The Bibliothèque Elzévirienne specialized in producing small-format editions of French classics, which were both affordable and of high scholarly value. These editions were instrumental in popularizing French literary works among the general populace and academic circles alike.
