Pilar Luna

Pilar Luna Erreguerena (1944–2020) was a pioneering Mexican underwater archaeologist, renowned for her contributions to the field of maritime archaeology. She was instrumental in the development of underwater archaeology in Mexico and played a significant role in the preservation of submerged cultural heritage.

Pilar Luna was born in Mexico City in 1944. She developed an early interest in archaeology and pursued her studies at the National School of Anthropology and History (ENAH) in Mexico.
