History[edit | edit source]

Pizza Haven was founded in 1984 by the Christou brothers, who had emigrated from Cyprus. The brothers initially worked in their father's pizza store before deciding to start their own business. The first Pizza Haven outlet was opened in Adelaide, South Australia. The business model was based on both delivery and carryout services, which was a novelty in the Australian pizza industry at the time.

The company quickly expanded, and by the 1990s, Pizza Haven had over 200 stores throughout Australia, New Zealand, and Europe. The company's success was attributed to its focus on quality ingredients, customer service, and innovative marketing strategies.

In 2008, Pizza Haven was acquired by Eagle Boys, another Australian pizza chain. The Pizza Haven brand was phased out, and the stores were rebranded as Eagle Boys outlets.

Menu[edit | edit source]

Pizza Haven's menu consisted of a variety of pizzas, including traditional options such as Margherita and Pepperoni, as well as unique offerings like the Aussie (a pizza topped with bacon and egg). The chain also offered a range of sides, including garlic bread, chicken wings, and a variety of desserts.

Legacy[edit | edit source]

Despite its eventual acquisition and rebranding, Pizza Haven left a lasting impact on the Australian pizza industry. The company's emphasis on delivery and carryout services helped to popularize these concepts in Australia. Furthermore, Pizza Haven's focus on quality ingredients and customer service set a standard that other pizza chains strive to meet.
