Polus[edit | edit source]

Polus is a fictional planet in the science fiction video game "Among Us." It is one of the three playable maps in the game, alongside The Skeld and Mira HQ. Polus is known for its icy and snowy terrain, making it a challenging environment for the crewmates to navigate.

Geography[edit | edit source]

Polus is a large, remote planet located in a distant star system. It is characterized by its frozen landscapes, with vast icy plains, snow-covered mountains, and frozen lakes. The planet's harsh climate and treacherous terrain pose significant challenges for the crewmates as they carry out their tasks and try to identify the impostors among them.

Facilities[edit | edit source]

Polus features various facilities that serve as locations for tasks and interactions within the game. These facilities include:

1. **Dropship**: The starting point for crewmates at the beginning of each game. It is a small landing area equipped with a communications tower.

2. **Laboratory**: A scientific research facility where crewmates can perform tasks related to experiments and analysis.

3. **Office**: A central administrative area where crewmates can complete administrative tasks and manage the ship's operations.

4. **O2**: An oxygen supply area where crewmates must ensure the proper functioning of the life support systems.

5. **Specimen Room**: A containment area where crewmates can conduct experiments and analyze samples.

6. **Storage**: A large storage area where crewmates can organize and manage supplies and equipment.

7. **Communications**: A communication center where crewmates can send and receive messages.

8. **Security**: A surveillance room equipped with cameras to monitor the ship's activities.

Gameplay[edit | edit source]

In "Among Us," Polus offers a unique gameplay experience due to its larger size and complex layout. The crewmates must navigate through the various facilities to complete their tasks while being wary of the impostors who are trying to sabotage their efforts.

The impostors, on the other hand, can use the planet's vastness and secluded areas to their advantage, making it easier for them to carry out their nefarious deeds without being detected. They can sabotage vital systems, vent between rooms, and eliminate unsuspecting crewmates.

To increase their chances of survival, crewmates can use the emergency meetings and report any suspicious behavior they witness. This allows them to discuss and vote on who they believe is the impostor. Proper communication and teamwork are crucial for the crewmates to identify and eliminate the impostors before they take control of the ship.

In Popular Culture[edit | edit source]

Polus has gained popularity among "Among Us" players due to its challenging gameplay and unique setting. It has become a favorite map for many players, offering a different experience compared to the other maps in the game.
