PowerBar is a brand of energy bars and other nutrition products that are primarily consumed by athletes for energy and recovery. The brand was founded in 1986 by Brian Maxwell, a Canadian athlete, and his partner Jennifer Biddulph, a nutritionist. PowerBar products are now distributed globally and are popular among athletes and fitness enthusiasts.

Brian Maxwell and Jennifer Biddulph created the first PowerBar product in their kitchen in Berkeley, California. In 2000, PowerBar was acquired by Nestlé, the world's largest food and beverage company. Under Nestlé's ownership, the PowerBar brand expanded its product line to include protein bars, energy gels, and sports drinks.
