Princess Royal University Hospital
Princess Royal University Hospital (PRUH) is a large acute district general hospital situated in Locksbottom, Bromley, London, United Kingdom. It is managed by the King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.
History[edit | edit source]
The Princess Royal University Hospital was officially opened by the Princess Royal in October 2003. It was built to replace Farnborough Hospital, which was outdated and no longer fit for purpose. The hospital was initially managed by the Bromley Hospitals NHS Trust.
Services[edit | edit source]
The hospital provides a full range of services including emergency care, surgery, maternity services, and paediatrics. It also houses the area's only hyper acute stroke unit.
Facilities[edit | edit source]
The hospital has over 500 beds, 14 operating theatres, and provides care for over 500,000 patients each year. It also has a helipad for air ambulance services.
Performance[edit | edit source]
In 2013, the hospital was taken over by the King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust following concerns about the quality of care and financial stability. Since then, the hospital has seen significant improvements in its performance and patient satisfaction ratings.
