Princeton University is a private Ivy League research university in Princeton, New Jersey. Established in 1746, it is the fourth-oldest institution of higher education in the United States.

Princeton University was chartered in 1746 as the College of New Jersey. It was renamed Princeton University in 1896 in honor of the area where it is located. The university has a rich history that reflects the intellectual and social life of the United States over more than 275 years.

Campus[edit | edit source]

The university's 500-acre campus features a variety of architectural styles, ranging from High Victorian Gothic to contemporary. The campus is known for its beautiful setting and historic buildings like Nassau Hall, which is the oldest building on campus.

Princeton University offers undergraduate and graduate instruction in the humanities, social sciences, natural sciences, and engineering.
