Pure Blonde
Pure Blonde[edit | edit source]
Pure Blonde is a popular brand of low-carbohydrate beer produced in Australia. It was first launched in 2004 by Carlton & United Breweries (CUB), a subsidiary of Foster's Group. The brand has gained significant popularity due to its low-carb content and crisp, clean taste.
History[edit | edit source]
Pure Blonde was introduced to the Australian market in 2004 as a response to the growing demand for low-carbohydrate products. The beer quickly gained popularity and became one of the top-selling beers in the country. In 2006, Pure Blonde was awarded the Grand Gold Medal at the Monde Selection awards, an international quality institute which recognises the highest standards of taste and quality in beers.
Product Range[edit | edit source]
The Pure Blonde product range includes:
- Pure Blonde Premium Lager: This is the original Pure Blonde beer. It is a full-strength lager that contains 80% less carbohydrates than regular beer and 50% less calories.
- Pure Blonde Ultra Low Carb Lager: Launched in 2010, this variant contains 80% less carbohydrates than regular beer and 50% less calories. It is also a full-strength beer.
- Pure Blonde Organic Cider: Introduced in 2012, this is a crisp, refreshing cider made from organic apples. It contains 60% less sugar and 50% less carbohydrates than regular cider.
Brewing Process[edit | edit source]
Pure Blonde is brewed using a special process that reduces the amount of carbohydrates in the beer. The brewing process begins with the selection of high-quality ingredients, including premium barley and hops. The barley is then malted and mashed to extract the sugars. The sugars are fermented by yeast, which produces alcohol and carbon dioxide. The beer is then filtered to remove any remaining solids, resulting in a clear, crisp beer with a lower carbohydrate content.
Marketing and Advertising[edit | edit source]
Pure Blonde has been marketed as a healthier alternative to regular beer. The brand's advertising campaigns have focused on the beer's low-carb content and its appeal to health-conscious consumers. In 2007, Pure Blonde launched a memorable advertising campaign featuring a 'utopia' where Clydesdale horses deliver crates of Pure Blonde to appreciative beer drinkers.
