R. Wallace & Sons
R. Wallace & Sons was a prominent American silverware manufacturer based in Wallingford, Connecticut. The company was founded in 1835 by Robert Wallace, a Scottish immigrant who had apprenticed with the renowned silversmith William Gale. Over the years, R. Robert Wallace began his career in the silver industry by working for Meriden Britannia Company, another well-known silver manufacturer in the region. In 1871, the company was incorporated as R. Wallace & Sons Mfg. Co., reflecting the involvement of Robert Wallace's sons in the business. The company continued to expand its product line, introducing new patterns and designs that became popular across the United States.
