- Rabun County is a county located in the northeastern corner of the U.S. state of Georgia. As of the 2010 census, the population was 16,276. The county seat is Clayton. Rabun County is the northeasternmost county in Georgia. It is part of the Sky Valley-Clayton, GA Micropolitan Statistical Area.
Geography[edit | edit source]
- Rabun County is located in the Blue Ridge Mountains. The county's eastern border with South Carolina is formed by the Chattooga River. The county is drained by two river systems, the Tallulah River, which flows to the Savannah River system to the southeast, and the Chattooga River, which flows to the Savannah River system to the east.
Demographics[edit | edit source]
- As of the 2010 United States Census, there were 16,276 people, 6,780 households, and 4,674 families residing in the county. The population density was 57.6 inhabitants per square mile (22.2/km2). There were 9,754 housing units at an average density of 34.4 per square mile (13.3/km2).
