Razor

A Razor is a bladed tool primarily used in the removal of unwanted body hair through the act of shaving. Kinds of razors include straight razors, disposable razors, and electric razors.

History[edit | edit source]

While the razor has been in existence since before the Bronze Age (the oldest razor-like object has been dated to 18,000 B.C.), the most common types of razors used today are the safety razor and the electric razor, although other kinds are used.

Types of Razors[edit | edit source]

Straight Razors[edit | edit source]

A Straight razor is a razor with a blade that can fold into its handle. They are also called open razors and cut-throat razors.

Safety Razors[edit | edit source]

The Safety razor is a razor with a protective device positioned between the edge of the blade and the skin.

Disposable Razors[edit | edit source]

Disposable razors are designed for a handful of uses before being discarded.

Electric Razors[edit | edit source]

An Electric razor (also known as the electric dry shaver) has a rotating or oscillating blade.
