A reactor is a device or system that is designed to perform a specific function or process. The term is commonly used in various fields such as chemistry, physics, and engineering to refer to equipment or systems that facilitate chemical reactions, nuclear reactions, or other processes.

Chemical Reactor[edit | edit source]
A chemical reactor is a device that carries out a chemical reaction. It is designed to maximize the reaction rate and efficiency, control temperature and pressure, and safely contain the reaction.
Nuclear Reactor[edit | edit source]
A nuclear reactor is a device used to initiate and control a self-sustained nuclear chain reaction. They are used in nuclear power plants for electricity generation and in nuclear marine propulsion.
Bioreactor[edit | edit source]
A bioreactor is a device or system that supports a biologically active environment, allowing for the cultivation of cells or tissue. It can be a vessel in which a chemical process is carried out which involves organisms or biochemically active substances derived from such organisms.
