Real County is a county located in the U.S. state of Texas. As of the 2010 census, its population was 3,309. The county seat is Leakey. The county is named for Julius Real, a former member of the Texas State Senate. Real County is part of the Edwards Plateau, characterized by steep, rugged hills and deep canyons, and covered by open grasslands and live oak, juniper, and mesquite trees.
