Redhook Ale Brewery was founded by Paul Shipman and Gordon Bowker. The duo was inspired by the flavorful and robust ales they had tasted during their travels in Europe. They aimed to bring similar quality and taste to the American beer market, which was dominated by light lagers at the time.
