Refugio County is a county located in the U.S. state of Texas. As of the 2010 census, the population was 7,383. Its county seat is Refugio. The county was created in 1836 and organized the following year.

Geography

Refugio County is located in the Coastal Bend region of Texas. The county's total area is 818 square miles, of which 770 square miles is land and 48 square miles is water.

Demographics

As of the 2010 census, there were 7,383 people, 2,937 households, and 2,050 families residing in the county. The population density was 9.6 inhabitants per square mile.
