The Regents of the University of Michigan is the governing body of the University of Michigan, a prestigious public research university located in Ann Arbor, Michigan, United States. Established in 1837, the university is one of the oldest and most renowned educational institutions in the country.

The University of Michigan was founded in Detroit in 1817, but it was not until 1837 that the institution was moved to Ann Arbor and the Board of Regents was established.
