Renato Salvatori (20 March 1934 – 27 March 1988) was an Italian actor known for his work in Italian cinema during the 1950s and 1960s.

Salvatori was born on 20 March 1934 in Seravezza, Italy.

Career[edit | edit source]

Salvatori began his acting career in the late 1950s and quickly gained recognition for his performances in various Italian films. He often collaborated with prominent directors such as Luchino Visconti and Pier Paolo Pasolini. One of Salvatori's most notable roles was in the film Rocco and His Brothers (1960), directed by Luchino Visconti. His portrayal of Simone, a troubled and complex character, earned him critical acclaim and solidified his reputation as a talented actor. Throughout his career, Salvatori appeared in numerous films, showcasing his versatility and range as an actor. Some of his other notable works include The Big Gundown (1966) and We Still Kill the Old Way (1967).

Salvatori was married to Italian actress Annie Girardot from 1962 until his death in 1988. The couple had one daughter together.
