Richard Tesařík (25 October 1915 – 15 April 1967) was a distinguished Czechoslovak military officer and a key figure in the Czechoslovak Legions during World War II. His contributions to the Czechoslovak military efforts and his leadership during the conflict have made him a celebrated figure in Czech and Slovak military history.

Richard Tesařík was born in 1915, in a period of significant political and social changes in Europe. He grew up in the newly formed country of Czechoslovakia, which had gained independence following the collapse of the Austro-Hungarian Empire after World War I.
