- Richwood is located at 32°25′16″N 92°5′27″W (32.421111, -92.090833). According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 2.2 square miles (5.7 km²), all land.

- As of the census of 2000, there were 2,728 people, 1,004 households, and 670 families residing in the town. The population density was 1,238.6 people per square mile (478.2/km²).
