Robert Dahlqvist
Robert Dahlqvist (April 16, 1976 – February 3, 2017) was a Swedish guitarist and singer, best known for his work with the rock band The Hellacopters. He was also a member of the bands Thunder Express and Dundertåget.

Robert Dahlqvist was born in Uddevalla, Sweden. He developed an interest in music at a young age and began playing the guitar during his teenage years. His early influences included classic rock and punk bands, which shaped his musical style.
Career[edit | edit source]
The Hellacopters[edit | edit source]
In 1999, Dahlqvist joined The Hellacopters, a prominent Swedish rock band known for their high-energy performances and garage rock sound. He replaced guitarist Dregen, who left the band to focus on his other project, Backyard Babies. Dahlqvist's first album with The Hellacopters was High Visibility (2000), which received critical acclaim and solidified the band's reputation in the rock music scene.
Dahlqvist played with The Hellacopters until their initial breakup in 2008. During his tenure, he contributed to several albums, including By the Grace of God (2002) and Rock & Roll Is Dead (2005). The band reunited in 2016 for a series of live performances, but Dahlqvist's involvement was cut short by his untimely death.
Thunder Express and Dundertåget[edit | edit source]
In addition to his work with The Hellacopters, Dahlqvist formed the band Thunder Express in the early 2000s. The band released two albums, We Play for Pleasure (2004) and Republic Disgrace (2007), showcasing a blend of rock and roll and blues influences.
Dahlqvist later formed Dundertåget, a Swedish-language rock band. Dundertåget released two albums, Skaffa ny frisyr (2009) and Dom feta åren är förbi (2010), which were well-received in Sweden.

Robert Dahlqvist passed away on February 3, 2017, at the age of 40. His death was a significant loss to the Swedish rock music community, and he is remembered for his contributions to the genre and his distinctive guitar playing.
