Rochelle, Illinois is a city located in Ogle County, in the northern part of the state of Illinois. It is known for its rich history, strategic location, and vibrant community.

Rochelle was originally known as "Hickory Grove" due to the abundance of hickory trees in the area. The name was later changed to Rochelle in 1853 when the town was incorporated. The city grew rapidly with the arrival of the Chicago and North Western Railroad, which made it a significant transportation hub.

Rochelle is situated at the intersection of Interstate 39 and Interstate 88, making it a key location for transportation and logistics. The city covers a total area of 12.92 square miles, of which 12.90 square miles is land and 0.02 square miles is water.

The economy of Rochelle is diverse, with significant contributions from manufacturing, agriculture, and transportation. The city is home to several large employers, including Del Monte Foods and Rochelle Foods, a subsidiary of Hormel Foods.
