Rough Copy is a British R&B and pop music group formed in London, England in 2012. The group consists of three members: Kazeem "Kaz" Ajobe, Sterling Ramsey, and Joseph "Joey" James Thomas. They gained popularity after appearing on the tenth series of the reality TV show The X Factor in 2013.

Formation and early years[edit | edit source]
Rough Copy was formed in 2012 when Kazeem Ajobe, Sterling Ramsey, and Joseph Thomas auditioned as solo artists for The X Factor. The judges, impressed by their individual talents, decided to bring them together as a group. They quickly bonded and began performing as Rough Copy.
The X Factor[edit | edit source]
Rough Copy auditioned for The X Factor in 2012 and made it through to the bootcamp stage. However, due to visa issues, Kazeem Ajobe was unable to continue in the competition, and the group was forced to withdraw. Determined to pursue their dreams, Rough Copy returned to The X Factor in 2013 for the tenth series.
During their time on the show, Rough Copy gained a strong following and received positive feedback from the judges. They made it to the live shows and finished in fourth place overall. Their performances showcased their unique blend of R&B and pop, earning them praise for their harmonies and stage presence.
Post The X Factor[edit | edit source]
After The X Factor, Rough Copy signed a record deal with Epic Records. They released their debut single, "Street Love", in 2014, which reached number 46 on the UK Singles Chart. The group continued to work on their music, collaborating with various artists and producers.
In 2015, Rough Copy released their second single, "Same Formula", which received positive reviews from music critics. They also embarked on a UK tour, performing in various cities and gaining a loyal fan base.
