Rowan's Creek

From WikiMD's Food, Medicine & Wellness Encyclopedia

Rowan's Creek is a brand of bourbon whiskey produced by the Willett Distillery, also known as Kentucky Bourbon Distillers (KBD), Ltd. The distillery is located in Bardstown, Kentucky, a city renowned for its historical connection to the production of bourbon.

History[edit | edit source]

Rowan's Creek is named after the watercourse that runs through the grounds of the Willett Distillery. The creek, in turn, is named after John Rowan, a 19th-century Kentucky statesman who is said to have first crafted bourbon whiskey in the state. The brand is part of the small batch boutique bourbon collection of the Willett Distillery.

Production[edit | edit source]

Rowan's Creek is a small batch bourbon, meaning it is produced by mixing the contents of a relatively small number of selected barrels. The bourbon is aged for 12 years, which is longer than many other bourbons. This aging process gives Rowan's Creek a distinct flavor profile, characterized by notes of caramel, vanilla, and oak.

The bourbon is bottled at 50.05% alcohol by volume, which is slightly higher than the typical 40% ABV for most bourbons. This higher alcohol content gives Rowan's Creek a robust and full-bodied flavor.

Reception[edit | edit source]

Rowan's Creek has been well received by critics and has won several awards. It is often praised for its complexity and balance of flavors.
