Roy Heath

Roy Aubrey Kelvin Heath was born on August 13, 1926, in Georgetown, Guyana. He spent his early years in Guyana before moving to England in the 1950s. Heath pursued a career in law, studying at the London School of Economics and later practicing as a barrister.
Literary Career[edit | edit source]
Heath began his literary career relatively late in life, publishing his first novel, A Man Come Home, in 1974. He is best known for his trilogy, The Armstrong Trilogy, which includes the novels From the Heat of the Day, One Generation, and Genetha. These works are celebrated for their vivid portrayal of Guyanese life and their exploration of the human condition.
