Sahlen Field is a baseball stadium located in Buffalo, New York. It is the home of the Buffalo Bisons, a Minor League Baseball team in the Triple-A East. The stadium was opened in 1988 and has a seating capacity of 16,600 for night games and 16,907 for day games.

Sahlen Field was originally known as Pilot Field. The name was changed to North AmeriCare Park in 1995, Dunn Tire Park in 1999, and finally Sahlen Field in 2009. The stadium was named after Sahlen Packing Company, a Buffalo-based company that purchased the naming rights.

Design and Features[edit | edit source]

The design of Sahlen Field is reminiscent of the "retro-classic" style of many modern ballparks. The stadium features a natural grass playing surface and a unique cantilevered design that allows for unobstructed views of the field from all seating areas. The stadium also includes 38 luxury suites, a restaurant, and a team store.

Notable Events[edit | edit source]

Over the years, Sahlen Field has hosted a number of notable events. In 2012, it hosted the Triple-A All-Star Game. In 2020, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Toronto Blue Jays played the majority of their home games at Sahlen Field.
