Nusret Gökçe, popularly known as Salt Bae, is a Turkish chef and restaurateur who gained fame for his unique seasoning technique and distinctive style. He was born on August 9, 1983, in Erzurum, Turkey, and is the co-owner of Nusr-Et, a chain of steak houses.

Salt Bae first gained attention in early 2017 when a video of him preparing and seasoning a steak went viral on social media. In the video, he is seen dramatically sprinkling salt over the meat, earning him the nickname "Salt Bae." He has since become a social media sensation, with millions of followers on Instagram and Twitter.
In addition to his unique seasoning technique, Salt Bae is also known for his distinctive style, which includes wearing sunglasses and a tight black t-shirt, as well as his trademark mustache. He has become a popular meme, with his signature salt-sprinkling gesture being used in a variety of humorous and creative ways.
