San Dimas is a city located in the San Gabriel Valley of Los Angeles County, California. It is situated approximately 28 miles east of Downtown Los Angeles. The city is known for its rich history, vibrant community, and scenic beauty.

San Dimas was originally inhabited by the Tongva people, who were the indigenous inhabitants of the Los Angeles Basin. The area was later explored by Spanish missionaries in the 18th century. The city was named after Saint Dismas, the "Good Thief" crucified alongside Jesus.
The arrival of the Southern Pacific Railroad in the 1880s spurred development in the area, leading to the establishment of citrus groves and vineyards. San Dimas was officially incorporated as a city on August 4, 1960.

San Dimas is located at the foothills of the San Gabriel Mountains, providing residents with access to outdoor recreational activities such as hiking and biking. The city covers a total area of 15.43 square miles, of which 15.14 square miles is land and 0.29 square miles is water.
