Scott Alan Eyre (born May 30, 1972) is an American former professional baseball pitcher. He played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Chicago White Sox, Toronto Blue Jays, San Francisco Giants, Chicago Cubs, and Philadelphia Phillies.

Early life[edit | edit source]

Scott Eyre was born in Inglewood, California. He attended Cy-Fair High School in Cypress, Texas, where he played high school baseball.

Professional career[edit | edit source]

Chicago White Sox[edit | edit source]

Eyre was drafted by the Chicago White Sox in the 9th round of the 1991 Major League Baseball Draft. He made his MLB debut with the White Sox on August 1, 1997.

Toronto Blue Jays[edit | edit source]

In 2001, Eyre was traded to the Toronto Blue Jays. He played for the Blue Jays until 2002.

San Francisco Giants[edit | edit source]

Eyre signed with the San Francisco Giants in 2002. He played for the Giants until 2005, becoming a reliable left-handed reliever.

Chicago Cubs[edit | edit source]

Eyre joined the Chicago Cubs in 2006. He played for the Cubs until 2008.

Philadelphia Phillies[edit | edit source]

In 2008, Eyre was traded to the Philadelphia Phillies. He was part of the Phillies team that won the 2008 World Series. Eyre retired from professional baseball after the 2009 season.

Personal life[edit | edit source]

Scott Eyre's brother, Willie Eyre, also played in Major League Baseball. Scott Eyre is known for his charitable work and involvement in community service.
