Semliki is a region in Uganda known for its national park and the Semliki River. The region is rich in biodiversity and is a significant area for wildlife conservation.

Semliki is located in the western part of Uganda, bordering the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The region is characterized by its diverse landscapes, including the Rwenzori Mountains, the Semliki River, and the Lake Albert.

Semliki National Park[edit | edit source]

The Semliki National Park is one of the main attractions in the region. It covers an area of 220 square kilometers and is home to a variety of wildlife species. The park is known for its hot springs, known as the Sempaya Hot Springs, which are a popular tourist attraction.

Semliki is rich in biodiversity, with a wide range of flora and fauna. The region is home to several endangered species, including the forest elephant and the pygmy hippopotamus. The Semliki River is also a significant habitat for various fish species.

The region is inhabited by the Bamba and Bakonjo tribes, who have a rich cultural heritage. Their traditional practices and beliefs are closely tied to the natural environment.
