- Seymour is a city located in the state of Wisconsin, United States. It is known as the "Home of the Hamburger" and hosts an annual Burger Fest to celebrate the invention of the hamburger. The city is part of Outagamie County and has a population of approximately 3,451 as of the 2010 census.
Geography[edit | edit source]
- Seymour is located at 44°30′28″N 88°19′52″W. According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 2.91 square miles, all of it land.
History[edit | edit source]
- Seymour was founded in 1868 and was named after Governor Horatio Seymour of New York. The city is recognized as the place where the hamburger was first created, by Charlie Nagreen in 1885.
