Shq1
Shq1' is a protein that in humans is encoded by the SHQ1 gene. This protein plays a crucial role in the assembly of the H/ACA small nucleolar ribonucleoproteins (snoRNPs), which are essential components in the processing and modification of ribosomal RNA (rRNA). The H/ACA snoRNPs are involved in the conversion of uridine to pseudouridine in rRNA, a modification that is critical for the proper functioning of the ribosome.
