Skilled Nursing Facility
A Skilled nursing facility (SNF) is a type of healthcare provider that offers a high level of medical care. This care is provided by registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, and at least one licensed physician available for consultation.
SNFs are typically used for short-term patients who require comprehensive rehabilitation or for long-term patients who require ongoing nursing care. They are often used for patients who have been discharged from a hospital but who are not yet able to return home.

In the United States, skilled nursing facilities are regulated by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). They must meet certain health and safety requirements in order to participate in the Medicare and Medicaid programs.
