Souma is a fictional character and the main protagonist in the manga and anime series Food Wars!: Shokugeki no Soma. Created by Yūto Tsukuda and illustrated by Shun Saeki, Souma is a young and ambitious chef who dreams of surpassing his father's culinary skills and taking over the family diner, Yukihira Diner. Throughout the series, Souma enrolls in the prestigious Totsuki Culinary Academy, where he faces off against numerous other skilled chefs in intense cooking competitions known as shokugeki.
