South Gate is a census-designated place located in Anne Arundel County, Maryland, United States. It is a suburban community situated approximately 10 miles south of Baltimore. South Gate was founded in 1958 and has a population of around 3,000 people as of 2020.

As of the 2020 census, South Gate had a population of 3,000 people. The population density was 1,200 people per square mile. The racial makeup of the community was 80% White, 10% African American, 5% Asian, and 5% from other races.

South Gate was established in 1958 as a planned suburban community. It was designed to provide affordable housing options for families looking to settle in the Baltimore metropolitan area.
