- South Tucson is a city in Pima County, Arizona, United States. It is an enclave surrounded by the city of Tucson. The population is approximately 5,600 in a 1.0 square mile area, making it the smallest municipality in Arizona.

- South Tucson was incorporated in 1940. Its history is strongly tied to the growth and development of Tucson, and the city's cultural heritage reflects the influence of Native American, Spanish, Mexican, and Anglo-American cultures.
Geography[edit | edit source]
- South Tucson is located at 32°11′19″N 110°58′2″W. The city is an enclave completely surrounded by the city of Tucson. It is bounded by 29th Street to the north, 36th Street to the south, Interstate 10 to the west, and South 6th Avenue to the east.
Healthcare[edit | edit source]
- South Tucson is home to several well-known healthcare facilities.
- Carondelet St. Mary's Hospital is the first hospital in Arizona, founded in 1880 by the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet. It offers a wide range of health services including emergency care, orthopedics, stroke care, and women's health.
- Banner - University Medical Center South is a comprehensive medical center that includes an emergency department, a state-designated trauma center and a Behavioral Health Pavilion. It is one of the top hospitals in the state.
