Springbank Distillery is a distillery located in Campbeltown, Scotland, known for producing single malt Scotch whisky. It is one of the oldest family-owned distilleries in Scotland and is one of the few distilleries in Scotland to perform every step of the whisky making process on the same premises.

The Springbank Distillery was established in 1828 by the Reid family and is now owned by the Mitchell family, descendants of the original founders. The distillery has a rich history, surviving the Pattison crash of 1898 that led to the closure of many other distilleries in Campbeltown.

Production[edit | edit source]

The distillery produces three distinct types of single malt Scotch whisky: Springbank, Longrow, and Hazelburn, each with its unique production method and taste profile. The Springbank whisky is distilled two and a half times, and it is lightly peated, giving it a unique flavor among Scotch whiskies. Longrow is heavily peated and distilled twice, while Hazelburn is unpeated and distilled three times.

Springbank Distillery offers guided tours, providing visitors with an insight into the traditional methods of whisky production used at the distillery. The tours include a visit to the malting floors, the still room, and the dunnage warehouse, where the whisky matures in casks.
