St. Charles is an unincorporated community located in Charles County, Maryland, United States. It is situated approximately 23 miles south-southeast of Washington, D.C. and 46 miles south-southwest of Baltimore. St. Charles is known for its planned community development and is one of the largest unincorporated communities in Maryland.

St. Charles was founded in 1968 as a planned community by the St. Charles Companies. The development aimed to create a self-sufficient community with residential, commercial, and recreational areas. The community was designed to provide a high quality of life for its residents, with amenities such as parks, schools, and shopping centers.
