St Nicholas' Almshouses
St Nicholas' Almshouses is a historic building located on King Street in Bristol, England. It was constructed between 1652 and 1656 and later expanded in the 19th century. The building was restored in 1961 by Donald Insall, during which the foundations of a bastion of the City Wall were discovered. St Nicholas' Almshouses is designated as a grade II* listed building by English Heritage.
Originally built as one of the first structures in King Street, the almshouse served as a shelter for the homeless. However, it suffered damage during the Bristol Blitz and now only presents a facade to the street. It is currently used as student accommodation.
