Gameplay[edit | edit source]

Stadium Events is an athletics game that utilizes the Family Fun Fitness mat, a special controller that allows players to physically run, jump, and perform other athletic movements. The game features four events: the 100M dash, the 110M hurdles, the long jump, and the triple jump. Players compete against computer-controlled opponents or another player in these events.

Development and Release[edit | edit source]

Stadium Events was developed by Human Entertainment, a Japanese video game company known for its innovative titles. The game was published by Bandai, a major player in the video game industry. In 1987, Nintendo acquired the rights to the Family Fun Fitness mat and rebranded it as the Power Pad. Consequently, Stadium Events was re-released as World Class Track Meet.

Rarity and Collectibility[edit | edit source]

Stadium Events is considered one of the rarest and most valuable NES games. This is primarily due to the limited number of copies sold before it was pulled from the market and rebranded. Collectors highly seek after the game, and complete copies have been known to sell for thousands of dollars.

Legacy[edit | edit source]

Despite its limited initial success, Stadium Events has left a lasting impact on the video game industry. It is often cited in discussions about rare and valuable video games and has a dedicated following among retro gaming enthusiasts.
