Stephen Donnelly
Stephen Donnelly is an Irish politician who has been serving as the Minister for Health since June 2020. A member of the Fianna Fáil party, Donnelly was first elected to the Dáil Éireann, the lower house of the Oireachtas (the Irish Parliament), in the 2011 general election as an independent candidate for the Wicklow constituency. He later co-founded the Social Democrats in 2015 but left the party in 2016 to join Fianna Fáil.

Stephen Donnelly was born in Dublin, Ireland. He pursued his higher education at the University College Dublin (UCD), where he earned a degree in Mechanical Engineering. Following his undergraduate studies, Donnelly furthered his education abroad, obtaining a Master's degree in Public Administration from the Harvard Kennedy School in the United States, where he was a Fulbright Scholar.

Before entering politics, Donnelly worked in the field of management consulting, focusing on professional services and project management in Ireland and internationally. In 2015, alongside Catherine Murphy and Róisín Shortall, Donnelly co-founded the Social Democrats, a centre-left political party. However, his tenure with the party was short-lived; he left in 2016 citing differences in vision for the party's future.

Donnelly joined Fianna Fáil in 2017, and in the 2020 general election, he was re-elected to the Dáil as a member of this party. In June 2020, following the formation of a coalition government, he was appointed Minister for Health.
