Stranahan's Colorado Whiskey
Stranahan's Colorado Whiskey is a distilled beverage that is produced in Denver, Colorado. It is known for its unique flavor profile and its status as the first Colorado-born whiskey.
History[edit | edit source]
Stranahan's Colorado Whiskey was founded in 2004 by George Stranahan and Jess Graber. The two met when Graber, a volunteer firefighter, responded to a fire at Stranahan's barn. They discovered a shared passion for whiskey and decided to create their own, using Colorado's natural resources.
Production[edit | edit source]
Stranahan's Colorado Whiskey is made using 100% malted barley and Rocky Mountain water. The distillation process takes place in a copper pot still, and the whiskey is aged in new charred American oak barrels. The whiskey is then cut with water to the desired proof and bottled by hand.
Flavor Profile[edit | edit source]
Stranahan's Colorado Whiskey is known for its rich and full-bodied flavor. It has notes of caramel, vanilla, and oak, with a smooth finish. The whiskey is often enjoyed neat, but can also be used in a variety of cocktail recipes.
Awards and Recognition[edit | edit source]
Stranahan's Colorado Whiskey has received numerous awards and accolades for its quality and flavor. It was named "Artisan Whiskey of the Year" by Malt Advocate magazine and has received high ratings from Whiskey Advocate and Wine Enthusiast.
