Stryn
Stryn is a municipality in Vestland county, Norway. It is located in the traditional district of Nordfjord. The administrative center of the municipality is the village of Stryn. The municipality is located along the innermost part of the Nordfjord. It is surrounded by mountains and valleys. The areas of Innvik and Utvik were part of Stryn until 1891.
Geography[edit | edit source]
Stryn is known for its distinctive and dramatic scenery. The landscape is characterized by steep mountains, lush valleys, and deep fjords. The Jostedalsbreen glacier, the largest glacier in mainland Europe, is located in the southern part of the municipality. The Stryn River runs through the municipality, and the town of Stryn lies at the eastern end of the Nordfjord.
