Styre is a fictional character from the long-running British science fiction television series Doctor Who. He was a Sontaran, a member of a clone warrior race from the planet Sontar. Styre first appeared in the serial The Sontaran Experiment, which was broadcast in 1975.

Character Biography[edit | edit source]

Styre was a Sontaran Field Major who was sent to Earth to conduct experiments on human beings, to discover their weaknesses and thus make it easier for the Sontarans to conquer the planet. He was eventually defeated by the Fourth Doctor, who tricked him into draining his own energy reserves.

Appearances[edit | edit source]

Styre's only appearance was in The Sontaran Experiment, a two-part serial that was part of the twelfth season of Doctor Who. The serial was written by Bob Baker and Dave Martin, and directed by Rodney Bennett.

Reception[edit | edit source]

Styre has been described as one of the most memorable Sontaran characters in Doctor Who. His ruthless and sadistic nature, combined with his distinctive appearance, made a strong impression on viewers.
