Sugar Land is a city in Fort Bend County, Texas, United States, located in the southwestern part of the Houston metropolitan area. It is one of the most affluent and rapidly growing cities in Texas, known for its high quality of life, excellent schools, and diverse community.

Sugar Land's history dates back to the early 19th century when it was part of the Mexican land grant to Stephen F. Austin. The area was originally a large sugar plantation, which is how the city got its name. In 1908, the Imperial Sugar Company was founded, and Sugar Land became a company town.
