Sundae

Sundae is a type of dessert that typically consists of one or more scoops of ice cream topped with sauce or syrup, and in some cases other toppings including sprinkles, whipped cream, maraschino cherries, or other fruits.

The origin of the sundae is obscure. However, the Oxford English Dictionary suggests that the term "sundae" derives from the English word "Sunday". There are many stories about the birth of the sundae, but it is hard to say which one is true.

There are many variations of the sundae worldwide. In the United States, sundaes are often served in tall glasses, while in the United Kingdom, they are typically served in shallow dishes. Some of the popular sundae variations include the Banana Split, the Black and White Sundae, and the Caramel Apple Sundae.

The preparation of a sundae involves layering scoops of ice cream with a flavored syrup or sauce. The sundae is then topped with whipped cream and a maraschino cherry. Some variations may include additional toppings such as nuts, sprinkles, or fruits.
