Susanna Tamaro
Susanna Tamaro (born 12 December 1957) is an Italian author and screenwriter. She is best known for her novel Va' dove ti porta il cuore (Follow Your Heart), which became an international bestseller.
Early Life and Education[edit | edit source]
Susanna Tamaro was born in Trieste, a city in northeastern Italy. She is a distant relative of the famous Italian writer Italo Svevo. Tamaro showed an early interest in writing and literature. She attended the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia in Rome, where she studied film direction.
Career[edit | edit source]
Tamaro began her career as a writer in the late 1980s. Her first novel, La testa fra le nuvole (Head in the Clouds), was published in 1989. However, it was her third novel, Va' dove ti porta il cuore (Follow Your Heart), published in 1994, that brought her international fame. The book has been translated into over 35 languages and has sold millions of copies worldwide.
In addition to her novels, Tamaro has written several children's books, essays, and short stories. She has also worked as a screenwriter and director for Italian television.
