Sycuan

Sycuan is a term that is often associated with the Sycuan Band of the Kumeyaay Nation, a federally recognized tribe of Mission Indians from Southern California, located in the unincorporated area of San Diego County just east of El Cajon. The Sycuan band are a Kumeyaay tribe, one of the four ethnic groups indigenous to San Diego County.

The Sycuan Band of the Kumeyaay Nation has a rich history that dates back 12,000 years, when their ancestors first settled in the region. The Sycuan band was not officially recognized by the United States government until 1891. In 1983, they established the first high-stakes Indian bingo operation in California on the Sycuan Reservation.
Sycuan Reservation[edit | edit source]
The Sycuan Reservation is a federal Indian reservation located in San Diego County, California, near El Cajon. The reservation is over 640 acres in size and is home to approximately 300 members of the Sycuan Band. The reservation is also home to the Sycuan Casino, which is owned and operated by the Sycuan Band of the Kumeyaay Nation.
Sycuan Casino[edit | edit source]
The Sycuan Casino is a large casino and hotel located on the Sycuan Reservation. It is one of the largest employers in the region and offers a variety of gaming options, including slots, table games, poker, and bingo. The casino also features several restaurants, a spa, and a golf course.
Sycuan Medical Services[edit | edit source]
The Sycuan Medical Center provides healthcare services to the members of the Sycuan Band of the Kumeyaay Nation. The center offers a variety of services, including primary care, dental care, behavioral health services, and community health services.
